Taj
At Lake
Argyle we went on a cruise and we fed fish, drank a lot of softdrink, saw heaps
of wallaroos and drank heaps of softdrink, we saw crocodiles and drank more
softdrink. At the end of the cruise we
go to jump off the roof of the boat. I
was the first one to jump. We met some
French kids who were too scared to jump off but we talked them in to it and by
the end we were all jumping in to the water.
Next stop
was Pussy Cat Flats. Ryley and I played
on the playground a lot because we made up a game. AT night when I went to have my shower I
found lots of frogs in the cubicle that I was showering in. It was awesome. We even got to play a round of golf at the
caravan park and I lost lots of golf balls.
We moved on
to Kakadu which is where I had my 10th birthday. I got lots of new presents. Some of my presents were Super Smash Bros,
Dominoes, Matchbox cars, mother of pearl shell, clothes and PJ’s. I had a great birthday, we spent the day
playing in the pool and went to the aboriginal information centre. We went on two magnificent walks. They were magnificent because they had a lot
of rock art and brilliant views. I
really like reading all the dreamtime stories as we walk around. We also went to Cahill’s crossing to see some
crocs but there weren’t any. Instead we
decided to do some fishing, I didn’t catch any but Tamsyn and Ryley did.
AT Darwin
Dad booked us in to another house and it even had toys, so I played with all
the toys that were there. There was also
a dog there called Pippa and I got to play with her. Ryley was really sick and Tamsyn didn’t want
to play football with me so I played football with Pippa.
We also
went to a deckchair cinema in Darwin.
It’s an outdoor cinema with just rows of deckchairs. We watched Paper planes. I loved the movie, I thought it was pretty funny. We also got some softdrinks there. When the movie ended we went home and went
straight to bed.
We went to
the Mindil beach night market, it has heaps of food and street performers. One of the performances was a drummer and a
man playing four didgeridoos at once, they were called MD and they were
awesome. There was also any aboriginal
man singing a song and I thought he sounded really cool so I gave him some
money. There was a fire performer, he
was really good, he could even breath fire and all the tricks that he could do
were amazing. At the end of the night I
got to ride on a mechanical bull and it was the best fun. We also ate a lot of food and watched the
sunset on Mindil bay.
We left
Darwin and headed not too far away at Tumbling Waters. Ryley and I played heaps of footy but I
missed playing with Pippa the dog. There
was a Jazz and Blues festival and Tamsyn even bought one of the CD’s off the
singer but I didn’t. The caravan Park
had 10 pet freshwater crocs that we got to feed.
At night we
went to the rodeo but I was feeling a little bit sick. Even though I was feeling sick it was still
awesome. My favourite was the bucking
Shetlands that the little boys had to ride.
One of the ponies wouldn’t even leave the chute when the gates opened
but when he finally did come out he went all psycho and bucked the kid into
next week. It was hilarious.
On the next
day we drove towards Daly Waters but we stopped on the way at Mataranka Springs
for a refreshing swim. At Daly waters I
made two friends in the pub and we played pool all night, their names were Ryan
and James. I only won one game of pool
though, it was against Ryan.
The next
day we made it all the way to Alice Springs which is a nice place but full of
troubled people. We got didgeridoo
lesson, Ryley was really good at it and I was OK. Mum made us go to all the museums again, the
first one was an old school, it was pretty cool with the old desks and old
writing.
As part of
my birthday present we did a nocturnal zoo tour that was completely
awesome. I hope to do it again. We saw Bilbies, echidnas, bandicoots,
bettongs, stick nest rats and Mala which are now extinct in the wild. We went back to the same zoo during the
daylight the next day to see all the birds of prey. My favourite was boobook owl.
Next we’re
off to Uluru.
