Today we
later went to a place called the Crocoseum, which is pretty much just a place
with about 10 different crocs, a few turtles, but not much else. Along with the
big crocs there are about 100 baby ones who we went fishing for, swimming with
and we got to put one on our head. When I say we went swimming with them I mean
there was a large clear wall in between a pool with crocs and a pool that we
could swim in.
You can’t
go to Darwin without going to the Mindil Bay market. The snow cones there are
possibly the best snow cones in existence, not only are they massive but they
also don’t go shy on the syrup. The street performers at the market were
amazing, we got to see a Didg band and a flame thrower.
We unfortunately
couldn’t stay in the house for our whole time in Darwin because it was booked
out for the last 2 nights so we had to move on but stay at the same time. We
headed off to a placed called Tumbling Waters which is just out of Darwin. We
happened to get there at the time of the Blues and Jazz festival. None of us
are really great fans of Blues or Jazz but we went anyway because the owners at
the park were lovely. Turns out that the music wasn’t so much Blues and Jazz
but what they classified as Pop Blues, which I actually really liked.
We couldn’t
leave Darwin without going to mums favourite event. The rodeo. I am not such a
fan of rodeo because it really attracts rather interesting people, fair to call
it bogan city. I did enjoy watching the miniature bucking broncos. 1 of the
horses decided that it didn’t want to buck at all and just stayed in the shoot
with its butt up against the wall.
