Robe so far, has been my favourite stop. It was
quiet, beautiful, on a beach and had the world’s best ice cream shop that
included Nutella ice cream.
The weather
was amazing, perfect weather for swimming in the ocean and a little bit of
tanning. But the ocean was freezing, every time I ducked my head under the
water I came up gasping for breath because it was so cold. I also tried to tan
but failed miserably and remain the most pale in the family.
The sunsets
on the beach were magical and when you added a variety of ice cream it was even
better. While the boys and grandma did a bit of fishing I sat in the car and
soaked up the beautiful views and ate most the ice cream.
I felt like
I could have stayed in robe forever but like every place we had to move on and
our next stop was victor harbour.
The weather
dropped off heaps but the beach at victor harbour was much warmer so swimming
was still an option in a big way. Victor harbour was full of natural beauty but
was the definition of bogan-Ville. If someone wasn’t swearing every second word
and didn’t have their skin covered in tats then they were definitely a tourist.
As seen on
sunrise, I am not a morning person. Apart from when I walk into the caravan,
expecting to do school work and see my best friend sitting at the end of the
caravan. I was so shocked to see Jordan that I stumbled out of the caravan, on
what seemed to be the verge of passing out nearly knocking my head on the way.
Not even having taj running around my feet, madly snapping pictures of me, made
me fall back into my morning mood.
Adelaide
was our next stop, the caravan as nice as it was, resulted in 3 nights of not
much sleep dur to the nearby airport and the trucks driving past at all times
of the night.
The park
itself though was very nice, we had a nice beach about 100m away from where we
were camped. It was also a lot more enjoyable at the caravan park because we
made a couple of new friends from Port Lincoln.
Apart from
cruising around the caravan park with our new friends we went to the zoo for
dad’s birthday. The zoo was much smaller then Melbourne but it was still a lot
of fun. Seeing the giant pandas was amazing because I have not seen any before.
I also got a fair laugh listening to Ryley’s and Jordan’s comments about the
albino meerkat.
We also
went out for dinner for dad’s birthday, we ate at a beach view restaurant. The
view of the sunset was beautiful and just to add to the scenery dolphins were
jumping around close into shore. Making it look like something you would see on
a Getaway show.
Before we
left Adelaide I had to say goodbye to Jordan. Watching him get on the plane was
incredibly sad because I knew it was the last time I would see anyone for the
next 3 months. I may have cried just a little.
It has been
a great second week, our next stop is the Barossa Valley witch I will soon find
myself writing on. Hope everyone is having a good time in Melbourne and
enjoying the weather that is probably a whole lot worse than 30 degrees and
sunshine. Xx
Great write up Taz! Love the look of the place you had dinner for your Dad's birthday - wow! Keep having a wonderful time.

Aunty Liz and Dan,
