Flinders Rangers
was a national park with heaps of wildlife. We did a few walks but otherwise we
didn’t do too much. Our next stop was Fowlers Bay. When we arrived Taj and I went for a walk
along the pier and saw some fish. Later
we went for a fish, on the way to the pier I asked a guy for tips on squid
jigging because it was my first time and he gave us two squid jigs to use. On my
third cast I caught my first squid which was awesome. We also caught a lot of other fish and squid
while we were there. We went on a really
good charter.
Fishing at
Fowlers Bay was great, we caught some really cool fish. Taj caught 1 squid. 1
travelly, 1 nannaguy and two leather jackets. Dad caught. 1 squid and heaps of
others but we can’t remember what. I caught. 2 squid, 5 leather jackets, 2
parrot fish,1 huge groper, 1 nannaguy, 1 snapper and a couple others. Mum caught
1 parrot fish. Taz caught 1 unknown and 1 nannaguy. I cooked up some squid as a
home-ec assignment and the squid tasted beautiful.
Next up was
wave rock which I had always wanted to see.
It was awesome and I really liked how there was also other waves but
they were a lot smaller. Then we arrived at Kondinin which had a really big
public pool which we spent most our day at.
Perth was
fantastic and had a lot of good things.
We went to Rottnest Island and saw some quokkas which are now one of my favourite
animals. We went snorkelling and saw
some fish, there were some huge drummers.
The next day we went to Freo Dockers training which was good but I got
bored so Mum and I went to an old jail which was really cool. There was a display of paintings that the
prisoners used to do, they we really good. On our last night we went to Matty
Bardsley’s house for dinner and we had a great time with his kids and Taj and I
played a bit of soccer.
Our next
stop was Jurien Bay. Taj and I went
fishing there and caught 265 blow fish over 2 days. They were everywhere. We also made some friends and played a few
games on the jumping pillow. Now were off to Kalbarri.
Hi Ry,
ReplyDeleteWhat a HUGE fishing haul you've had! The size of the fish you're catching blew me away! And the idea of eating fresh squid made me feel like doing a runner to Heads N Tails, the awesome Elwood fish 'n chip shop Dan and I love. I'm sure even they couldn't compete with the freshly caught fish you've been eating though. Yum!
Love the picture of you with the quokkas, they're gorgeous ... and so close :)
Another great write up! Hope you keep having a wonderful, relaxing time exploring Australia.
Love lots,
Aunty Liz and Dan
xx
My Gosh I hope you still want to come home, sounds fantastic, Grumps has been reading your Blogs every night and I think he wishes we had kept going although I don't think I would have taken that short cut, dirty red sand? I don't think so oh not to mention Cyclones, would have been like Wilson Prom, keep having a great time, miss you and love you heaps.
